A crash damaged Dawes bicycle was presented to us at Caygills, unfortunately the frame and forks were irreparable.
The customer sourced a replacement frame, this was in need of some TLC.
Subsequently the replacement Dawes Reynolds 531 frame was bead blasted for scrutiny. With no problems revealed, refinishing work began.
A flam finish was opted for so once the primer and undercoat had been applied the tinted lacquer was used to create the desired effect.
To complete the work, period decals were fitted and several coats of clear lacquer brought the frame back to its former glory.
